"Operational Research was based on a postulate of optimum research. However, decision problems arising from real-life situations cannot be optimized under every aspects. In these situations, the multicriteria approach helps decision-makers to identify the best compromise alternatives and to justify the best choice. Among available methods, we will see why the outranking multicriteria approach is gifted: multiple views, strength/weaknesses discovery, conflict detection, sensivity analysis, reliability gauge. During the seminar, several concrete use cases, both strategic and operational, will be described and illustrated by using the Decision Lab 2000 software."
